"The Bit - Straight from the horse's mouth"

A British Brand Making Waves

Retro, comfort, Best of British and quality – just a few words to describe one of the latest country fashion labels making waves in 2016.
Picture
Whale Of A Time Clothing has successfully added a splash of colour and retro style to a brand swimming with British quality and attention to detail.  With pieces that wouldn’t be out of place in a Kensington or  Chelsea café or bar, these designs are  equally at home with equestrians up and down the country, or even on a sunbathed Californian or Hamptons beach.  Young designer Ellie Wales, hits the spot with versatility, comfort and style.

"The inspiration behind the brand is all about bringing back the great 80's styles and vibrant colours" commented Ellie Wales.  "I saw a need for good quality affordable and stylish casual clothing".  WOATC certainly achieves their goal in this respect with a fabulous collection of 80's inspired styles and colours that equally equally don't make those old enough to remember shudder at the thought of some of the fashion shockers from the era.

A unisex collection of 100% Organic Cotton round necked sweatshirts and t-shirts brings a new dimension to the brand looking to differentiate themselves both in style and components.  At first glance viewing the collection sends thoughts back to the late 80’s and 90’s, with fond memories of patriotic colours, loose fitting styles and women’s fashion adopting a masculine flair.  Once comfortably adorned in a Fin Sweatshirt though all thoughts transcend to the warmth, security and familiarity of a woman ‘borrowing’ a man’s jumper.

What we loved about the ‘Fin Sweatshirt’

  • Comfort of style – hiding lumps and bumps on the fully figured fillies but still bringing sexy back when worn by someone such as Made In Chelsea’s Binky Felstead and teamed with some short shorts, designer shades, Boho or surf style jewellery.

  • The price point - £32.99, a bargain for Organic cotton and a British brand

  • Lasting quality – we’ve worn ours over a dozen times, machine washing, leaving crumpled damp in a laundry basket and left hanging in what was some hot summer sun.  Still the sweatshirt is as good as new.

Definitely a brand to be awarded 5 out of 5 on the flipper scale.

What can we expect from this calf of a fashion brand moving forward?

"We have retro inspired lounge pants coming out in November in time for Christmas along side the designs of new long sleeved t-shirts and sweatshirts which will all been in keeping with our retro vibes"

If the lounge pants are anywhere near as comfortable as the sweatshirts we can't wait to pour ourselves into a pair a lounging by the fire this Winter!
