About The Bit UK

The Bit - straight from the horse's mouth
All the Bits you need for life in the equestrian world

What is The Bit UK?

The Bit UK is a work of love from Founder and Editor Sarah Skillin who's passion for all things equestrian and the country lifestyle is captured in all The Bit's the site has to offer.

Essentially The Bit UK is an online equestrian and country lifestyle magazine featuring the very best in new equestrian and country wear, reports from the field about the field and what to wear in the field, as well as interviews and feature articles with the people that make the equestrian world so special.

It goes a lot further than just what to wear - we look at where to stay, where to eat, where to holiday, we speak to those working and living in the Equestrian community, from those in Eventing to those in Dressage.  We also look to other country pursuits such as shooting to give our readers a greater depth of reading.

What makes The Bit UK that little bit different?

There is wealth of exceptional equestrian journalism out there with Horse and Hound being a coffee table essential for many country homes.  However The Bit UK's Founder saw a gap in the market for a publication that focused on the lifestyle behind the sport.

We look to feature the equestrian community as a whole, the lifestyle that accompanies it and the vibe of events rather than the individual performances of horse and rider - not to say we don't get a little giddy at Burghley watching Andrew Nicholson win, or at Olympia as Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro break yet another world record.

We will engage and work with a range of amateurs and professionals as well as those working within the fashion industry such as designers and trend setters. It is our aim to make our content relevant and useful to all with a passion for all fields of equine sport from Eventing to Dressage, Polo to Racing... we aim to have breadth as well as detail.
