Hot To Trot: Summer Style

With parts of England being hotter than the Mediterranean and Thailand this week, we are getting hot to trot in more ways than one.  Straying cool and looking fabulous at the same time can often be a hard task.  We've put together some equestrian brand inspired style picks for those hot Summer days.
With Henley looming, the Summer racing season galloping into gear with Royal Ascot, Hickstead hotting up and a array of eventing fixtures fast approaching one requires a mixed attire.  But a wardrobe can always benefit from a few key pieces.

Everyone needs a good sun hat!  We've picked out two - both similar but also both significantly different.

The Aldeburgh...

Picture
The Aldeburgh Fedora is the newest addition to the Hicks & Brown collection and is a much lighter, and cooler, version of their ever popular Suffolk Fedora.

Made from Paper this cream hat is both light and cool to wear whilst also reflecting the hot summer sun.  Featuring the same distinctive feathers and signature Hicks & Brown gold detail The Aldeburgh has that little extra something about it, making it stand out from the crowd and seeing it fit in whilst sunbathing at home or on a beach, mingling at an eventing fixture or even on the banks of the river in Henley.  A bit of a bargain at £59 as well!

The Bora Beach...

Picture
The Bora Beach Hat from the Annabel Brocks Beach Boutique is a real winner - a super stylish sun hat with UVF 50+ Sun Protection built in.

This crushable and washable design ticks all the boxes for being able to be worn anywhere and everywhere this summer.  Suitable for the beach, the polo, racing, sailing and hot summer festivals, this is a super versatile Summer must have.

Available in a number of colour ways with a simple trim, you can't fail to be able to match this with any outfit.

Keeping cool under pressure can be no mean feat, The Bit's team have picked three Summer style picks aimed at keeping you stylish in the sun

For The Tweed Lover...

Picture
The Bardot is the newest design from Alice & Country and is all about combining the catwalk trend of the bardot top, with a touch of tweed to give it a country twist. Perfect for socialising at Sumer equestrian events and sizzling BBQs.

This British designed and manufactured top is made from luxurious cotton, in an Oxford weave, meaning you can say goodbye to creases, and hello to a breathable and lightweight top that will keep you cool this Summer. It's pink sleeve ties and matching elasticated trim are made from 100% British Tweed - making this a best of British pick!

The Bardots are made to order giving them a haute couture feel, and at £49 you'll be wanting them in numerous colour ways.

Bringing The Beach To The Country...

Picture
It is back to the Annabel Brocks Beach Boutique for a classic Kaftan, that brings the beach vibe to the heart of the countryside.

Traditionally hand-dyed 100% cotton kaftans are all unique pieces, each one individually cool dyed and intricately embroidered, with hand sewn and created tassles.  These exquisite pieces really do highlight the exceptional talents of the artisans that create them.

With multiple colour ways available, your wardrobe won't be complete with just one.  We can't just stop at the kaftan either, the Tassel Summer Wrap is equally desirable and a must have item to slip over the shoulders when the sun gets too much.

It was love at first sight for us and we've been pairing this bright colours kaftan with a white vest top, shorts or cropped trousers and have worn them whilst attending numerous eventing fixtures over the past month.

For The Competition Arena...

Picture
We are all very much aware that equestrian sports are quite traditional when it comes to dress code, there are not many other sports, if any, where you compete in a heavy tweed coat.  With many events relaxing the rules as temperatures sore competitors will need something smart, with a short sleeve and a cooling fabric.

The Equetech Freedom Competition Shirt is a gorgeous minimalist shirt with the focus on offering the ultimate in a technical, wicking shirt with maximum stretch in the saddle, which also caters for curves!

All seams are counter covered for further comfort and it’s machine washable, quick drying and non-iron care label make this a summer sizzler!  A bargain at £38.50 and great to see a brand supporting a range of sizes from 8 to 24!

Finally to breeches...riders constantly face the battle of sweaty breeches in the heat of the sun.  But what options are there for those wanting to stay cool and carry on riding?

The Riding Tight...

Picture
High performance, cool, stylish, flattering...all encompassed in the Noble Outfitters Balance Riding Tight.  We especially like that styles with an added pop of fun for that extra summer flair.

With a vertical stripe design and high recovery stretch material these riding tights provide a flattering fit whilst delivering optimal performance.

Made with Opti-Dry technology to wick away moisture, and sweat, and UPF 50+ technology included these are perfect for summer riding.  They've even added the little extras for practicality including an extra belt loop, hidden pocket inside the back waistband and a secure stash pocket on the front thigh, meaning you can store your phone and stash the cash whilst out riding.
